Managing misery to the end – while pogendroblem were still searching for utopia with a documentary film in 2020, their outlook for the future is far gloomier today. In 2022, Audiolith released the album “Alles was ich noch hab sind meine Kompetenzen”, which deals with growing up and getting older in the midst of crisis, late capitalism and a lack of alternatives. But it’s not all hopeless: between all the gloom, a spark of solidarity and disobedience against the status quo always shines through.
This was followed by an extensive tour through the DSA with a crowning finale in the sold-out “Kantine am Berghain”. After rousing live shows at c/o pop, the Reeperbahnfestival, Fusion and various punk festivals, they have been nominated in the Newcomer category of the Pop Preis NRW 2023. While they work on new songs, the journey on the abyss continues in 2024.
pogendroblem sound like 80s punk with garage influences and poppy cuteness.
Spiegel: „A battle cry for the German winter of 2022. Skills like these are in demand right now: after all, there’s a shortage of skilled workers in the punk industry too.“
Musikexpress: „Add to that desperation, power and wit and the result is one of the most important and exciting punk records of the year.“
Diffus: „With cynicism and anger (and so! much! attitude!)“
Reeperbahn Festival: „Focus on artistic dedication, creative rebellion and the unconditional will to carry on against all odds.
